It can be difficult to know exactly how much to spend on a memorial for your pet, and your options will vary largely on your budget.
If you don’t have a set budget
If you aren’t restricted by budget but you’re not sure how much to spend, then a good place to start is to look at how much households spend on their pets during their life.
In Britain, we spend an average of over £236 each month on essentials for dogs, this includes food, insurance, treatments, sitters and walkers.
In addition, we spend £91.70 on gifts and toys, that adds to around £3,000 a year.
In contrast, cat owners spend around £121 a month on essentials for their cat in addition to an average of £75.68 a year on gifts working out to around a total yearly spend of £1,452.

Don’t cut corners on quality
If you have a small budget, you will be able to find small trinkets for under £50.00. We urge people to be wary of buying products which are quite cheap, a memorial should be lasting, and quality does come at a price.
Furthermore, cheaper products tend to be shipped in large quantities from China and India meaning there is a large carbon footprint, and the quality tends to suffer.
When it comes to memorialising a beloved pet, it’s our heartfelt belief that it’s best not to cut corners.
At Rest Easy Pet Memorials we have been making memorials in the UK for more than 200 years.
Our cat and dog memorial product range is proudly crafted in-house in the UK by local memorial masons using only British sourced stone and slate meaning that we ensure the highest quality with the lowest carbon footprint.

Does this come at a higher cost? A bit, yes, and we aren’t shy about it!
We spend more on quality materials such as high-quality Welsh slate or English limestone for memorials, and 23.5 karat English gold leaf for lettering.
All of this means we aren’t the cheapest option, and we don’t want to be – we believe our beloved pets deserve only the best and highest quality.
We do however offer a range of products so that we can try and meet every budget.
